ニューヨーク生活７年を迎えようとしている我々ですが、これがあるのと無いのでは生活の質が全く違う！と思う商品を１０点ほどご紹介します。
買って良かったQOL向上商品｜ベスト１０
これから紹介する商品に関しては、私の独断と偏見による順位になります。
第１位 タッチ式ベッドサイドランプ
チャージャーで有名な【AUKEY】が出しているテーブルランプです。タッチで点灯・消灯できるのはもちろん、タッチの長さで明るさも変更できるところがおススメポイントです。
特にアメリカの住宅には、シーリングライトが付いていない物件が多いので、自分達でライトを準備しなくてはいけないのですが、お布団に入ってから電気を消したい時に、こちらのライトが便利です。こちらを購入してから、5年ほど使っています。Amazonでは見かけなかったのですが、公式サイトで$25以上の購入で送料無料になります。
ちなみにAmazonだと以下のような商品が売られています。こちらは色を変えることが出来るようなので、部屋の雰囲気を変えたい場合はいいかもしれませんね。

第２位 シャワーヘッド
アメリカのバスルームのシャワーヘッドは上部に固定されていることが多いです。シャワーの勢いや使い勝手の良さはシャワーヘッドに左右されます。私たちは引越しをするたびにすでに付いているヘッドを外し、ホース付きのシャワーヘッドに変えています。自分達でもできますが、アパートの管理人であるスーパーがいれば頼むのが一番安心です。
第３位 自動ソープディスペンサー

ゴミ箱で有名な【Simplehuman】の自動ソープディスペンサーです。充電式なので位置を簡単に変えることができ、掃除も簡単に行うことが出来ます。よくあるポンプ式だとその周りが水浸しになってしまい、いちいち拭き上げないといけないのは大変です。
自動でソープが出てくるのはもちろん、こちらの商品は手を差し出す位置でソープの量を調節できるのがポイントです。以前使っていたソープディスペンサーは量が調節できず、一回の量が多すぎて石けんを無駄にしてしまっていました。たった少しですが、ワンアクションを減らすだけでもストレスがかなり軽減されました。
第４位 ポット型浄水器

ニューヨークの水道水は比較的きれいだと言われますが、飲料水として使うには抵抗がいる我々は、【BRITA】に出会いました。簡単に浄水できるので、ニューヨークに来てすぐに購入したものです。
BRITAには様々な種類があり、色々と使ってみましたが、現在落ち着いたのはこちらになります。フィルターのリフィルはCostcoなどで大量に購入するとかなり安くなります。
第５位 電動歯ブラシ
以前はアメリカの歯ブラシは大きすぎるので、日本の歯ブラシを大量購入していました。しかしこの電動歯ブラシに出会ってから歯磨きが断然楽になりました。【Philips】のSonicareにも種類がありますが、現在我が家では充電式・電池式を利用しています。これだと旅行に行った際の持ち運びが便利ですし、2週間は充電しなくても使い続けることができるので、重宝しました。
第６位 レモン絞り器

我が家では朝にレモン白湯を飲んでいますが、直接レモンを絞っています。今まではレモンをぐりぐり潰すタイプのレモン絞り器を使っていたのですが、手首を負傷したことがきっかけで探したところ、こちらのタイプのレモン絞り器を見つけました。ただ潰すだけのタイプも多く売られていますが、キッチンツールのブランドの【KitchenAid】の2層タイプだと種は入らず、レモン汁だけを注ぐことができます。
第７位 ゴキ駆除

ニューヨークの家は古い建物が多いので、害虫が出る時が度々あります。今まで、害虫駆除に色々試してみましたが、こちらの薬剤の効き目が抜群でした。バスルームや玄関などの隅に沿って薬を添付すると効果テキメンです。
第８位 粘着テープ フック
ポストイットで有名な【3M】のブランドであるコマンドフックが有用でした。穴をあけたくない場所にはぴったりでした。イメージ的にプラスチック製なので、安っぽくなるかなぁなんて思っていましたが、メタル仕様やマット仕様になっていて使い勝手がすごく良かったです。耐久重量はしっかり確認して負荷はかけないようにしましょうね。

こちらはアメリカの【IRIS(アイリス)】で製作されたサーキュレーターです。Costcoで割引されていたので何の気に購入しましたが、ほんとに静かで、部屋の中の空気を循環させてくれます。また、冷房や暖房時にも回すことで、部屋の温度が均一になるので過ごしやすくなります。

朝お散歩に行くときに、こちらのマグにコーヒーを入れて持っていきます。形がかわいくてテンションが上がるのでお気に入りです。本体はステンレス製で出来ていますが、内側がセラミックでコーティングされているので、コーヒーや紅茶など濃いものを入れても、時間が経っても味が変わりません。
【Fellow】の製品は形がシンプルで素敵です。リッドを変えることが出来る”Carter Move Mug”シリーズも欲しいなと思っています。
生活の質を上げていきたい
